I'm so glad for a three day weekend. Even more so than that I'm glad to spend it with my family. We didn't make huge plans or go anywhere. We've kept it pretty simple. Friday we took the kids for ice cream and to the park. It was a beautiful evening and we had a blast just playing and running around...plus it caused the kids to run off all that sugar so they could crash when bedtime came around! Saturday was a busy day but quite productive. After all the sanding and construction work in the kitchen we finally started priming the cabinets for that beautiful black paint that's soon going to go on, made a trip to Lowe's, had dinner at Applebea's and came home to finish priming. Sunday we decided to take the day off and rest. Today is the big day for the cabinets though! We finally get to paint them. I'm so excited and can't wait to share pictures. It's going to look awesome!!!
Josh and I try to make it a priority to spend time together as a family when we have the chance. Yes we've had to chase the kids out of the kitchen and gate it off but we wouldn't have it any other way. Josh and I know we are blessed to have D and L in our lives so we try to involve them as much as we can. We like having them around since we don't get to be together but for a limited time during the week and they make life more intersting. We are particular fans of the screaming that goes on in this house! Whoever said "silence is golden" didn't know what they were talking about!!!
So in our house we are celebrating Labor Day by working in the kitchen and working to keep the kids out of t-r-o-u-b-l-e. Who needs rest?! ;) So to the rest of our friends and family enjoy your day of rest...we love you all!!!
